Eduardo A. Undurraga, ingeniero civil UC, obtuvo un doctorado en políticas sociales en Brandeis University (Massachusetts), con una beca Fulbright, y un magíster en estudios sociales y políticos latinoamericanos en la Universidad Alberto Hurtado.

Trabajó como investigador en economía de la salud y modelación de enfermedades infecciosas en el US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) y en el Schneider Institutes for Health Policy, Brandeis University donde actualmente es Visiting Research Scholar. Fue finalista del premio Kaafee Billah Early Career Award (2017) de CDC. 

Su investigación está enfocada en la interacción de la salud humana con las ciencias sociales. Usa diversos métodos cuantitativos para analizar los factores locales, nacionales, y globales que afectan la salud y el bienestar de la población y evaluar el impacto de programas e intervenciones para informar la toma de decisiones en políticas públicas. Ha trabajado extensivamente en la dinámica y la economía de las enfermedades infecciosas, incluyendo estrategias de vigilancia y control de enfermedades, métricas de salud y carga de enfermedad, y los efectos de factores sociales, ambientales y económicos en la salud de la población.

Eduardo es un CIFAR Azrieli Global Scholar en el programa Humans and the Microbiome. Es investigador en el Núcleo Milenio para la Investigación Colaborativa en Resistencia Antimicrobiana (MICROB-R), el Núcleo Milenio para el Estudio del Curso de Vida y la Vulnerabilidad (MLIV), y en el Centro de Investigación para la Gestión Integrada del Riesgo de Desastres (CIGIDEN).
